The latter name became popular post World War II after British Army General Bernard Montgomery (nicknamed Monty) was said to have started every day with a Full Fry-up English breakfast while on post in North Africa.

A clan favorite... meat and potatoes! Bangers sausage and
bacon mixed with Potatoes O’Brien, peppers and onions.
Topped with white cheddar cheese and two eggs cooked to your
liking. Served in a hot skillet. The term “Bangers” is attributed to
the fact that sausages made during World War I, with meat shortages,
were made with such a high water content, they would POP and
BANG under high heat.
YANKEE BREAKFAST ... $12.49
A traditional American breakfast. Two eggs your way, choice of sausage or bacon and Potatoes O’Brien. Served with toast. Potatoes O'Brien found its way to America in the early 1900’s when both a Boston and Manhattan restaurant served the potato mixture to their guests. However, some say it all started with William O’Brien, an Irish Nationalist and leader of the Post Potato Famine Revolution.
